The total municipal fisheries production in La Union decreased by 14.92 percent from the estimated production of 557.02 metric tons in 2nd quarter 2022 to 473.92 metric tons in 2nd quarter 2023.

La Union’s total volume of fisheries production in 2nd quarter 2023 was recorded at 5,224.65 metric tons, a decrease of 11.54 percent from the 5,906.53 metric tons production in 2nd quarter 2022. (Figure 1)

The aquaculture production in La Union was posted at 4,596.27 metric tons in 2nd quarter 2023. This translates to a decrease of 12.46 percent from the previous year’s same quarter level of 5,250.38 metric tons.

The volume of production from commercial fisheries was posted at 154.45 metric tons in 2nd quarter 2023. This recorded an increase of 55.79 percent from its level in 2nd quarter 2022 of 99.14 metric tons.

The volume of production from commercial fisheries was posted at 132.23 metric tons in 4th quarter 2022. This recorded a decrease of 74.38 percent from its level in 4th quarter 2021 of 516.09 metric tons.

The aquaculture production in La Union was posted at 639.21 metric tons in 4th quarter 2022. This translates to a decrease of 26.83 percent from 4th quarter 2021 level of 873.56 metric tons.

La Union’s total volume of fisheries production in 4th quarter 2022 was recorded at 1,225.10 metric tons, a decrease of 65.55 percent from the 3,555.79 metric tons production in 4th quarter 2021.

The volume of production from commercial fisheries was posted at 677.73 metric tons in 2022. This recorded a decrease of 48.90 percent from its level in the same period a year ago of 1,326.40 metric tons.

The aquaculture production in La Union was posted at 7,675.53 metric tons in 2022. This translates to an increase of 9.97 percent from the previous year’s level of 6,979.41 metric tons.
