ILOCOS SUR. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Provincial Statistical Office Ilocos Sur presented its Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration services to the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) during the Family Development Session (FDS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Alilem, Ilocos Sur on 16 to 17 April 2024.
Organized by DSWD, each beneficiary was able to avail of the different PhilSys services offered by the PSA such as the Step 2 registration, ePhilID issuance, PhilID/ePhilID authentication, and Transaction Number (TRN) retrieval for those who lost their transaction slips.
A total of 178 beneficiaries was registered to PhilSys, 48 ePhilIDs were successfully downloaded and printed, 657 PhilIDs/ePhilIDs were effectively authenticated, and 62 beneficiaries availed of the TRN retrieval service. The barangays that benefited in the activity were Apang, Apaya, Alilem Daya, Amilongan, Anaao, Batbato, Daddaay, Dalawa, and Kiat.
Through the collaboration of DSWD and PSA, the PhilSys registration and authentication efforts are streamlined to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of services provided to 4Ps beneficiaries. This collaborative effort aims to provide a more seamless and hassle-free experience for beneficiaries, anticipating a significant increase in the number of 4Ps beneficiaries obtaining PhilSys IDs.
Signed into law by President Rodrigo Duterte in August 2018, Republic Act 11055, or the Philippine Identification System Act, aims to establish a single national ID for all Filipinos and resident aliens. The national ID shall be a valid proof of identity that shall be a means of simplifying public and private transactions, enrolment in schools, and the opening of bank accounts.
