The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – La Union Provincial Statistical Office successfully concluded its three-day 202 Provincial Planning Workshop (PPW) from 18 to 20 December 2024 held at J&V Hotel and Resort, Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union.

The 2024 PPW aimed to provide a scheme for the formulation of harmonized Fiscal year (FY) 2025 plans and budgets in all PSA Operating Units (OUs). Specifically, it aimed to: consolidate the 2024 accomplishments; provide overall direction of the Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPs) for FY 2025; update on the new reforms of the government on the planning and budgeting cycle, its procedures, timetables, and guidelines to be adopted; map out strategies, actions, and activities for FY 2025; and detail the calendar of FY 2025 activities.

Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Danites E. Teñido, PhD, in her message, underscored the significance of the activity primarily to assess the agency’s performance for the year 2024. Dr. Teñido also emphasized the importance of cooperation in the workplace and harmonious relationship among colleagues to maintain the mental health and work-life balance while ensuring effective and efficient delivery of products and services.

The highlight of the three-day activity included the following: discussion on the 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (CAF); 2024 accomplishments of Statistical Operation and Coordination Section (SOCS), Civil Registration and Administrative Support Section (SOCS), Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), and budgetary reports; 2025 calendar of activities; and Cascading on Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Formulation.

With the completion of the 2024 PPAs, PSA-La Union is committed to implement effective strategies and action plans to achieve its goals for FY 2025.
