Mr. John Christian O. Jaravata and Ms. Kristine Jen T. Corpuz of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - La Union Provincial Statistical Office were crowned as Mr. and Ms. PSA 2024 during the 2025 Regional Planning Workshop (RPW) held at the Plaza Lodge Hotel, Baguio City from 12 to 16 December 2024.

The event was hosted by the PSA-Regional Statistical Services Office I (RSSO I). It was participated by the regular personnel and Contract of Service Workers (COSWs) of the two divisions of RSSO I: Civil Registration and Administrative Support Division (CRASD) and Statistical Operation and Coordination Division (SOCD); and the four Provincial Statistical Offices (PSOs): Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan headed by their respective Chief Statistical Specialists (CSSs) and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).

One of the highlights of the RPW was the Mr. and Ms. PSA 2024 competition, which featured three distinct phases. The Phase 1 was the introduction of contestants and casual interviews. Candidates showcased their 80s fashion attire and delivered witty self-introductions, incorporating local sayings "kasabihan”. A Question and Answer (Q and A) portion followed, testing their quick wit. Mr. Javarata and Ms. Corpuz of PSA-La Union were both awarded Best in 80s Attire for the male and female categories, respectively, while Mr. Justher Nielzeen I. Yabes of PSA Pangasinan and Ms. Corpuz of PSA-La Union garnered the Most Articulate award. The Phase 2 was the talent competition where contestants demonstrated their talents in combined performances. Candidates of PSA-Pangasinan Mr. Yabes and Ms. Lorraine Joy D. Fat won the Best in Talent for male and female categories, respectively while candidates of PSA Ilocos Sur Mr. Bernard Philip D. Fernandez and Ms. Charity Ashley B. De Guzman captured the Darling of the Crowd for male and female categories, respectively. Lastly, the Phase 3 featured the candidates in tuxedo and evening gown attire, followed by a Q and A session focusing on the organization, its employees, and their roles as public servants. Special awards included Best in Tuxedo for male and Evening Gown for female which was captured by Mr. Goldwin M. Matias of PSA Ilocos Norte and Ms. Corpuz of PSA-La Union, respectively.

The criteria for judging were based on a cumulative scoring system across all three phases that included 80s identity, stage presence, articulation, witty gestures, content of choreography and style, concept, originality, audience impact, crowd connection, appropriateness of dress, poise, and charisma.

The Search for Mr. and Ms. PSA 2024 concluded as a successful and memorable event, celebrating the talents and wit of PSA employees while underscoring the agency’s vision of solid, responsive, and world-class authority on quality statistics, efficient civil registration, and inclusive identification system.
