The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-La Union Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) conducts the 2024 Enumeration Area (EA) Delineation for the Development of 2024 Enumeration Area Reference File (EARF) from 05 February 2024 to 27 March 2024 for the province of La Union.

The 2024 EA Delineation intends to come up with the final EARF for all domains throughout the country to be utilized in the forthcoming 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (2024 POPCEN-CBMS).

The activity aims to identify and update the enumeration areas that require splitting to create EAs of relatively similar sizes ranging from 100 to 300 households. These delineated EAs will be subjected to field validation to confirm EA size and verify the accessibility criterion. Additionally, the activity aims to incorporate some adjustments made to the administrative boundaries as confirmed by the Local Government Units (LGUs) during the previous map research consultations during the 2023 Integrated Processing of Maps.

Prior to the implementation of the activity, PSA-La Union conducted a five-day training from 22 to 26 January 2024 at The Sixth Bldg., Barangay IV, City of San Fernando, La Union to ensure the consistent dissemination of concepts and procedures on EA delineation and merging. This also served as a prerequisite for aligning understanding and practices during both the delineation and field validation processes. Through these trainings, all personnel involved particularly the Map Data Processors (MDPs), Map Data Verifiers (MDVs), and Map Data Reviewer (MDR) will be able to effectively perform their respective roles during the conduct of the field validation activity, and in explaining the basic concepts of the activity to inquisitive respondents.

PSA-La Union hired and trained a total of nine MDPs, five MDVs, and one MDR under the direct supervision of Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Dr. Danites E. Teñido and Statistical Specialist II (SS II) Engr. Leny Grace S. Balanon, Provincial Focal Person (PFP).
