The preliminary results of the 2022 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI) showed that in the Ilocos Region, there were 433 establishments engaged in Other Service Activities. This is higher than the 2021 recorded establishments of 414.

On the contrary, there was a decline of 8.4 percent in the number of employees in the sector from 2,314 employees in 2021 to 2,120 employees in 2022.

In the Ilocos Region, Other Service Activities section recorded a total of 2,033 paid employees in 2022, equivalent to 95.9 percent of the total employment. This resulted to a decrease of 7.1 percent from the 2,188 paid employees in 2021.

The section of Other Service Activities reported a total expense of PhP 446.3 million. This was 4.4 percent lower than the PhP 467.0 million expense in 2021.

On the other hand, the total revenue produced in the section was recorded at PhP 550.9 million, representing an increase of 4.2 percent from the PhP 528.9 million in 2021. (Figure 3)

Under the Other Service Activities section, the average annual compensation paid per employee was recorded at PhP 61,808. This translates to a revenue per expense ratio of 1.23 which means that there is a 0.23 revenue per peso expense. The annual compensation per paid employee in 2022 was 11.2 percent lower from the PhP 69,622 average annual compensation per paid employee in 2021. In addition, total compensation paid to employees was PhP 152.3 million and PhP 125.7 million in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
