On 02 May 2024, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-La Union Provincial Statistical Office awarded the birth certificate of the beneficiary under the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) and disseminated on the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) and BRAP during the Senior Citizens Assembly in Cabaroan, City of San Fernando, La Union.

The event was attended by senior citizens, barangay officials, and residents of Brgy. Cabaroan, and personnel from PSA-La Union and the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of the City Government of San Fernando, La Union.

During the event, BRAP Coordinator John Christian O. Javata disseminated the processes of BRAP as well as its requirements. The BRAP is one of the major programs currently implemented by the PSA to ensure that all births of Filipinos in the marginalized sector, particularly those belonging to the Indigenous People (IP), Muslim Filipinos, and the poorest sector, are registered in their Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs).

Meanwhile, PhilSys Registration Center Supervisor (RCS) Danica Delim also informed on the PhilSys Updating Service and replacement of PhilID.

Consistent with Section 11 of Republic Act (RA) No. 11055, otherwise known as the PhilSys Act, registered persons are required to update their registration information in case of a change in or correction of entry/ies in the information collected and stored under the PhilSys. This includes substantial corrections to entries in the demographic information of the registered person that may affect his or her nationality, age, sex, status, and filiation. Additionally, registered persons who have received PhillDs with damaged and/or defective front-facing photographs may also request the replacement of his or her PhillD.

After the dissemination, BRAP Agent Javarata and Acting City Civil Registrar (CCR) Imelda C. Viluan awarded one birth certificate in Security Paper (SECPA) to the beneficiary of BRAP who is a resident of Brgy. Cabaroan.
