Hats off to the men and women of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - La Union!

PSA-La Union once again proved that it has been consistent in realizing the PSA’s vision as solid, responsive, and world-class authority on quality statistics, efficient civil registration, and inclusive identification system, bagging the 5th Place among 82 Provincial Statistical Offices (PSOs) in the country under the 2023 PSA Awards. Aside from capturing the 5th Place spot in the Top 15 PSOs, PSA-La Union also clinched the 1st Place Special Award in Civil Registration. Said awards were received by Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Danites E. Teñido, PhD during the 2023 PSA Awards held on 12 September 2024 at PSA Headquarters, Quezon City.

The PSA Awards is an incentive system aimed to ensure timely delivery of quality outputs in the implementation of PSA’s mandated activities intended to increase the PSA’s visibility among its stakeholders.

Special Awards under various categories such as Statistical Operations; Civil Registration; Statistical Planning and Coordination; Financial, Human Resource and Administrative Service; Information Dissemination; and Partnership and Linkages were awarded to Top Five RSSOs and PSOs. In addition, Special Award on Statistical Frameworks and Indicators System was also given to Top Five RSSOs.

The PSA Awards continue to recognize exemplary performances of PSA Field Offices. The top 15 performing PSOs were given recognition for the provincial category while the top five performing RSSOs were awarded in the regional category.

In the provincial category, the top 15 PSOs were: Zambales, Mountain Province, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, La Union, Negros Occidental, Bohol, Palawan, Benguet, Biliran, Catanduanes, Davao del Norte, Marinduque, Rizal, and Batangas.

In the regional category, the top five performing RSSOs were: Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Region V (Bicol), Region I (Ilocos), MIMAROPA Region, and Region IVA (CALABARZON).
