The Philippine Statistics Authority through the Pangasinan Provincial Statistical Office conducted the 28th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) last 05 November 2024 at Pangasinan Regency Hotel Calasiao, Pangasinan. The Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) which started in 1992, is spearheaded by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Philippine Statistical Association, Inc. (PSAI). It is a nationwide annual contest designed to assess the knowledge in statistics of freshman students enrolled in colleges and universities in the 17 regions of the country.

The competition commenced through a welcome message from Statistical Analyst Allen Joy B. Paulo. Afterwards the Board of Judges was introduced, led by the Chairman, Statistical Specialist II Joseph Severo together with Statistical Specialist II Ana Liza B. Orperia and Administrative Officer I Engr. Justher Nielzeen I. Yabes. The rules and mechanics were then presented by Mr. Severo followed by the acknowledgement of participants and their coaches. The contest proper, facilitated by Quiz Master Administrative Officer I Angelica P. Sarzaba, was composed of three rounds with ten multiple-choice questions each.

After a thorough deliberation of scores by the Board of Judges, the winners of the 28th PSQ Provincial Elimination were declared as follows: Champion, Josh Macklin F. Aquino of Kingfisher School of Business and Finance; 1st Runner-up, Sem Joshua O. Echual also from Kingfisher School of Business and Finance; and, 2nd Runner-up, Alkim Rodgel N. Gosioco of WCC Aeronautical and Technological College. Each winner received a certificate of recognition, cash prize, and a token. Our Champion and his two runners-up will represent the Province of Pangasinan in the Regional Finals to be held on November 15.
