As of 31 March 2024, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - La Union Provincial Statistical Office has registered a total of 666,090 individuals in La Union for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Step 2 registration.

The Step 2 registration includes validating demographic data and capturing biometric information such as fingerprints, iris scan, and front-facing photo.

Successful registration of individuals by city/municipality in La Union since its initial implementation in the first quarter of 2021 is detailed in the table below.

This accomplishment highlights the commitment of the agency to ensure the inclusion of every resident of the province to the PhilSys. To reach broader awareness on PhilSys, the PhilSys La Union team consistently disseminates information and distributes PhilSys Information and Education Campaign (IEC) materials during the Association of the Barangay Captains (ABC) meetings and conduct of PhilSys mobile registration.

PSA-La Union also continuously employs various strategic approaches to make PhilSys registration more accessible to unregistered individuals in the province. These include the continuous conduct of PhilSys co-location strategy with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for PhilSys registration of all the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in La Union, mobile registration in various barangays, institutional registration, and school-based registration.

Moreover, PSA-La Union also maintains its PhilSys Fix Registration Center (FRC) situated at Doña Pepita Bldg., Quezon Ave., Brgy. II, City of San Fernando, La Union, and deploys PhilSys personnel at the Civil Registration Services (CRS) Outlet of PSA-Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA-RSSO I), Parammata Bldg., Biday, City of San Fernando, La Union.

The valid proof of identity provided by PhilSys shall be a means to streamline public and private transactions while fostering social and economic platforms for enhanced service and financial inclusion.

For more information about PhilSys, individuals can visit the official PhilSys website at www.philsys.gov.ph or the official Facebook page at PSAPhilSysOfficial.
