Pangasinan Records 24,150 Registered Deaths in 2023

In 2023, the Philippines reported a total of 694,821 registered deaths, this is an increase from 2022 record with 679,766 registered deaths. Meanwhile, Ilocos Region registered 41,030 deaths in 2023, higher than 2022 record with 38,843. (Table 1)

 

Pangasinan reached a total of 24,150, an increase from the 22,718 deaths recorded in 2022. This growth contributed to the province's share of the total registered deaths in the Ilocos Region. The rise in registered deaths is a significant trend in the region, highlighting changes in the mortality rates within the province.

 

 

Pangasinan recorded the highest number of registered deaths in 2023

In Ilocos Region, Pangasinan recorded the highest number of registered deaths, with 24,150, while the province of Ilocos Norte recorded the lowest number, with 5,098. Pangasinan ranked first in the region for the highest number of deaths from January to December 2023. (Figure 1)

 

 

More deaths on males than females in Pangasinan

The province recorded a total of 24,150 registered deaths. Of this total, 13,335 of the deaths were males, and 10,815 were females. The data shows that a higher percentage of the deaths in the province were attributed to males. (Figure 2)

 

 

July recorded the highest number of deaths in Pangasinan

From 2022 to 2023, the province of Pangasinan posted fluctuations in the number of registered deaths. Notably, January 2022 recorded the highest number, with a total of 2,393 deaths, while April 2022 had the lowest, with 1,678 deaths. In comparison, July 2023 experienced the highest number of deaths that year, totaling 2,161, while February 2023 recorded the lowest, with 1,719 deaths. These figures demonstrate significant monthly variations in mortality rates across the two years. (Figure 3)
