According to the preliminary results of the Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI), 33 establishments were engaged in mining and quarrying activities. This signifies a 15.4 percent decrease from the 39 establishments reported in 2021.
Additionally, there were 749 workers recorded in 2022, and the total employment declined by 14.2 percent compared to the data in 2021 of 873 workers. An average number of 23 workers per establishment was noted in 2022 and 22 in 2021.

A total of PhP 1.36 billion expense was recorded in 2022 under the mining and quarrying section. This represents an increase of 6.4 percent compared to the PhP 1.28 billion expense in 2021.
Meanwhile, there were 742 total paid employees in 2022 and 863 total paid employees in 2021, indicating a decline of 14.0 percent. About 99.1 percent of the total employees was paid in 2022.

The total compensation paid by establishments to their employees was PhP 88.37 million, a decline of 25.1 percent from PhP 118.03 million in 2021.
Furthermore, the average annual compensation per paid employee in 2022 was PhP 119,097, a decrease of 12.9 percent from PhP 136,769 in 2021.

The total revenue in the mining and quarrying section was PhP 1.66 billion in 2022 and PhP 1.41 billion in 2021, which denotes a 17.9 percent increase. In addition, the sector generated a revenue relative to its expenses with a ratio of 1.22 in 2022, increased by 10.9 percent from 1.1 in 2021.
