The 2022 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI) preliminary results showed a total of 149 registered establishments were engaged in Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishing (AFF) activities in the Ilocos Region. An increase of 8.8 percent from the 137 establishments registered in 2021.
Meanwhile, total number of employees showed a 17.2 percent increase, from 2,822 in 2021 to 3,308 employees in 2022.

In the Ilocos Region, 98.6 percent of the total number of employees in the AFF section or a total of 3,262 employees were paid in 2022. This implies a growth of 21.9 percent from the 2,676 paid employees in 2021.
In addition, the average number of employees engaged in the section was posted at 22 employees per establishment in 2022.

In 2022, the total expense incurred in the AFF section was PhP 5.12 billion. This contracted to 14.8 percent from the PhP 6.01 billion total expense posted in 2021.
On the other hand, the total revenue generated by the section was recorded at PhP 8.60 billion, indicating an increase of 32.1 percent from the PhP 6.51 billion in 2021.

The average annual compensation per paid employee was recorded at PhP 238,778 in 2022 under the AFF section.
In addition, the total compensation paid to employees amounted to PhP 778.90 million, leading to an increase of 122.4 percent from the PhP 350.20 million posted in 2021.
The section noted a 1.68 revenue per expense ratio in 2022, an increase of 55.6 percent from the recorded 1.08 revenue per expense ratio in 2021. The ratio indicates that for every peso spent in 2022, the section generated a revenue of PhP 1.68.
