Based on the preliminary results of the 2022 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI), there are 494 registered establishments in the Ilocos Region under the section of education. The number of establishments increased by 12.3 percent from 440 in 2021.
In 2022, the total number of employees was recorded at 12,215, indicating an increase of 4.7 percent from the 11,664 employees in 2021.

The total paid employees in the education section in Ilocos Region was recorded at 12,069, or 98.8 percent of the total employment. In contrast to the 11,563 paid employees reported in 2021, there was a 4.4 percent gain.

In the Ilocos Region, the total revenue recorded under the education section was PhP 4.49 billion in 2022. This was 29.7 percent higher than the total revenue in 2021 of PhP 3.46 billion.
The total expense incurred in 2022 of the Education Section was PhP 3.85 billion. It was greater by 22.4 percent than the total expense in 2021 of PhP 3.14 billion. On the other hand, the total compensation paid to employees in 2022 was recorded at PhP 1.97 billion, higher by 14.3 percent compared to the total compensation paid to employees in 2021.

The average number of workers per establishment in 2022 was recorded at 25 under the education section, a 7.4 percent drop in comparison to the 27 in 2021.
Additionally, PhP 163,175 was the average annual compensation per paid employee in the Ilocos Region, higher by 9.5 percent from Php 148,999 in 2021. The revenue per expense ratio is 1.17, higher by 6.4 percent from 1.10 in 2021.
