ILOCOS REGION - The Philippine Statistics Authority –  Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA – RSSO I) conducted  the virtual pre-closing of books for CY 2021 and cascading of financial  and administrative matters on 10 – 11 January 2022. The activity  is an initiative of the RSSO I to resolve issues and concerns regarding financial matters before the closing of books procedures. The said activity was done via video conference.

Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Atty. Sheila O. De Guzman of PSA – RSSO I welcomed the participants and congratulated them for sustaining the top position for the Best in Financial Human Resource and Administrative Service (RSSO Category) during the 2020 PSA Field Awards.  Atty. De Guzman also emphasized the role of the accounting department and the support staff in ensuring the accuracy of financial documents,  as well as their compliance with relevant laws and regulations.  She also reminded to keep the minimum public health and safety standards at all times during this time of the pandemic.

The activity also served as an onboarding orientation for the newly-hired personnel. Accountant III Romnick Difuntorum discussed accounting procedure to the participants. Administrative Officer IV (AO IV)  Yvonne Abenoja talked about the phases of the budget cycle. Lastly, Administrative Officer III (AO III) Joel Natura presented a sample  of the Project Procurement Management Plan (PPMP). 

Personnel from the RSSO I and from the four Provincial Statistical Offices (PSOs) attended the said activity.
