• There was an increase of 6 percent from the registered marriages from 4,250 in January 2019 to 4,487 in January 2020.
• All provinces in the region increased in the number of registered marriages from 2019 to 2020.
• La Union showed the biggest increase in the number of registered marriages at 12 percent.
• Pangasinan had the most number of registered marriages (2,793) for January 2020 that is translated to a 62 percentage share to the region.
• La Union ranked second with the most number of registered marriages (683) Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte followed with 558 registered marriages and 453 registered marriages, respectively.

Roman Catholic marriages highest in January 2020

• There were 2,212 registered marriages through Roman Catholic Church ceremonies for January 2020. The highest number of registered marriages among other types of ceremony.
• Civil ceremonies followed at 1 ,1 84 registered marriages Four Muslim marriages were registered this month and one was registered under Tribal marriage

 

Teenage bridcs reached more than two hundred this month

• There were 242leenage brides who were registered this January 2020
• The median age of brides based from the registered marriages this first quarter was at 27 years old. This means that half the number of brides was younger than 27 years old and half was older than 27 years old.
• The grooms had a median age of 23 years old.
• Most brides belong in the age group 25 to 29 that is 39 percent of the total number.
• The highest number of grooms was also from the age group 25lo 29 that is 40 percent of the total number.

Pangasinan covers top 7 city/municipality with most registered marriages

• In Region l, Dagupan City, Pangasinan ranked first with 252 registered marriages in January 2020.
• San Carlos City, Pangasinan followed wilh 214 regislered marriages then Malasiqui, Pangasinan with 158; City of Urdaneta, Pangasinan with 141 and Urbiztondo, Pangasinan with 109.
• Lingayen and Binmaley, Pangasinan followed with 105 and 96 registered marriages, respectively.
• Municipalities of Adams and Dumalneg, Ilocos Norte recorded the least, with one registered marriage each.
