ILOCOS SUR. Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Ilocos Sur Provincial Statistical Office (ISPSO) conducted four of their 34th Civil Registration Month (CRM) Contests namely the 34th CRM Quiz Bee for LCRO Staff, 34th CRM Quiz Bee for PSA-Ilocos Sur Staff, 34th CRM Slogan Making Contest, and 34th CRM Infographics and Logo Making Contest on 07 February 2024, at PSA-ISPSO located at 3/F UNP Town Center, Tamag, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.

The 34th CRM Quiz Bee for LCRO Staff, 34th CRM Slogan Making Contest, and 34th CRM Infographics and Logo Making Contest were simultaneously conducted in the morning of 07 February 2024 as the 34th CRM Quiz Bee for PSA-Ilocos Sur Staff was conducted in the afternoon.

The 34th CRM Quiz Bee for LCRO Staff was conducted at the Conference Room of the PSA-ISPSO participated by 17 contestants for various Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs). Jennifer M. Borje of the LCRO Santa, Ilocos Sur was hailed as the champion. Lucille D. Ilacad of the LCRO Quirino, Ilocos Sur came second as Catherine H. Maglaya of the LCRO Galimuyod, Ilocos Sur clinched as the third placer.

The 34th CRM Slogan Making Contest on the other hand was conducted at the façade of the PSA-ISPSO and was participated by six contestants from the municipalities of San Esteban, Sinait, Cervantes, Banayoyo, Suyo, and Santiago. Mark Andrew G. Concepcion of the Local Government Unit of Banayoyo, Ilocos Sur was hailed as the champion while Jarmaine John M. Ines of LGU Sinait and Melody N. Angligen of LGU Cervantes achieved second and third place, respectively.

Meanwhile, the 34th CRM Infographics and Logo Making Contest was conducted at the other conference room of the PSA-ISPSO which was participated by five contestants from the municipalities of San Esteban, Sinait, Caoayan, Banayoyo, and Suyo. Derrick Joseph M. Ayson of LGU San Esteban was hailed as the champion as he was followed by Kevin Adiviso of LGU Caoayan and Randolf Tejada of LGU Banayoyo, respectively.

For the afternoon of 07 February 2024, the 34th CRM Quiz Bee for PSA-Ilocos Sur employees were conducted. This was participated by five permanent employees, nine contract of service workers, two UNISYS Encoders, and one utility worker, with a total of 17 participants. Job Order Worker Jasmine Kaye A. Quario was hailed as the champion as she was followed by Administrative Officer I Mary Claire U. Ragasa and Statistical Specialist II Dante D. Dacquel, respectively.

The theme for this year’s CRM celebration is “CRVS: The Future of Seamless Services”. This is in connection with PSA's drive to implement strategies to improve birth, marriage, and death registration using the latest state-of-the-art technologies to deliver quality civil registration products and services, generate and disseminate accurate and quality vital statistics.

February of every year is Civil Registration Month, pursuant to Proclamation No. 682 issued on 28 January 1991, by President Corazon C. Aquino, to remind Filipinos of their duty to register vital events in their life such as births, marriages, and deaths, as well as decrees, legal instruments, and judicial orders affecting their civil status.
