Filipinos seeking social aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) can now achieve a more streamlined process through the continuous collaboration between the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-La Union Provincial Statistical Office and DSWD Field Office I in the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration integration to social welfare programs.
This collaboration deploys PhilSys on-site registration at the DSWD Field Office I at Quezon Avenue, City of San Fernando, La Union. This strategic deployment ensures that individuals, particularly clients seeking assistance through DSWD programs, can conveniently complete their PhilSys registration alongside their application processes.
Moreover, this collaboration not only offers convenience to PhilSyS registration but also contributes to the Beneficiary First Social Protection Project (BFIRST Project) between the DSWD and the World Bank which targets the increase of the number of PhilSys-verified individuals particularly those who are listed in the unified beneficiary database as well as achieve its goal of digital data governance and digital payments for social programs, marking a significant step towards a more efficient and accessible social welfare system in the Philippines.
Aside from the PhilSys registration, clients transacting at the DSWD Field Office I who have queries about the PhilSys were also accommodated providing them with the essential information about their national identification.
To know more about PhilSys, individuals can visit the official PhilSys website at www.philsys.gov.ph or the official Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/PSAPhilSysOfficial.
