The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-La Union Provincial Statistical Office has completely registered a total of 657,389 Filipinos in La Union under the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Step 2 registration as of 31 January 2024.
Step 2 registration involves the validation of demographic data and the capture of biometric information such as fingerprints, iris scan, and front-facing photo.
The table below shows the successful registrants by city/municipality in La Union who completed the PhilSys Step 2 registration since its first implementation in the first quarter of 2021.
To ensure inclusive identification for all, PSA-La Union continuously conducts various strategies to make PhilSys registration more accessible to unregistered individuals in the province. This includes coordination with the component Local Government Units (LGUs) of the province down to the barangay level to continue to conduct PhilSys mobile registration, coordination with the line agencies to conduct institutional registration, and coordination with the Department of Education (DepEd) La Union Schools Division and Schools Division of the City of San Fernando to conduct school-based registration.
Additionally, PSA-La Union continuously operates its Fix Registration Center (FRC), situated at Doña Pepita Bldg., Quezon Ave., Brgy. II, City of San Fernando, La Union. Unregistered individuals under the PhilSys may also visit the registration center located at the Civil Registration Services (CRS) Outlet of PSA-Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA-RSSO I) and the mall-based registration center at the CSI Mall, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The valid proof of identity provided by PhilSys shall be a means to streamline public and private transactions while fostering social and economic platforms for enhanced service and financial inclusion.
To register, individuals must provide valid supporting documents subject to verification detailed on the PhilSys website through https://philsys.gov.ph/supporting-documents/.
The PSA assures that all personal information disclosed during the PhilSys Step 2 Registration adheres to the confidentiality provisions of Republic Act No. 10173, otherwise known as the “Data Privacy Act of 2012."
