As of 31 October 2023, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-La Union Provincial Statistical Office completely registered a total of 647,741 Filipinos under Step 2 Registration of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), through its PhilSys registration team.
The table below shows the successful registrants by city/municipality in La Union who completed the PhilSys Step 2 registration since its first implementation in the first quarter of 2021.
PSA-La Union continuously conducts strategic approaches to ensure inclusive identification system for all. These include door-to-door PhilSys registration through the “PhilSys on Wheels” and institutional registration.
Moreover, PSA – La Union maintains its Fix Registration Center (FRC) situated at Doña Pepita Bldg., Quezon Ave., Brgy II, City of San Fernando, La Union. Unregistered individuals under the PhilSys may also visit the registration center located at the Civil Registration Services (CRS) Outlet of PSA-Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA-RSSO I) and mall-based registration center at the CSI Mall, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Republic Act No. 11055, or the Philippine Identification System Act, signed into law by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on 06 August 2018, aims to establish a single national identification system for all citizens and resident aliens of the Republic of the Philippines.
The valid proof of identity provided by the PhilSys shall be a means of simplifying public and private transactions and shall be a social and economic platform that promotes seamless social service delivery and strengthens financial inclusion for both public and private services.
To register to the PhilSys, individuals must provide a valid supporting document subject to verification which can be viewed through this link https://philsys.gov.ph/supporting-documents/ to successfully complete the registration.
The public is assured that all personal information provided during the PhilSys Step 2 Registration will be treated with utmost confidentiality in conformity with the provisions of Republic Act No. 10173, otherwise known as the “Data Privacy Act of 2012.”
