ILOCOS REGION. Municipal Civil Registrar Liezle Joy V. Pagdilao of the Local Civil Registry Office of Pinili, Ilocos Norte, and Administrative Aide I Maria Joanne Edad of Aringay, La Union were the Champions of the 2024 Regional Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Quiz Bee held on 20 February 2024 at the PSA-Regional Statistical Services Office I, City of San Fernando, La Union.

There were eleven Local Civil Registrars who competed under Category A of the Regional CRVS Quiz Bee and represented their provinces. MCR Pagdilao, who got the most correct answers in rounds one and two of the quiz bee emerged as the Champion and shall represent the Region during the National CRVS Quiz Bee on 28 February 2024. Meanwhile, two of the LCRs of the province of La Union landed in the top three, namely: MCR Laida G. Rico of Aringay (2nd place) and MCR Atty. Jake M. Danduan of Bangar (3rd place).

Meanwhile, Ms. Edad outdid her ten contenders in Category B (LCRO Employees) of the Regional CRVS Quiz Bee when she got the most number of correct answers in rounds two and three. On the other hand, Registration Officer I Vic Andrew O. Cocson of Batac City, llocos Norte landed in 2nd place, while Administrative Aide VI Liza R. Valenzuela of Naguilian, La Union finished in 3rd place.

Statistical Specialist II Joseph E. Estoesta served as the quiz master during the event. Registration Officer IV Zenaida L. Garcillan thanked all the participants for their support of the 34th Civil Registration Month activities of the region. She said further that more than the competition, the event served as a venue for the participants to converge and strengthen their camaraderie.
