The Regional Statistical Services Office I (RSSO I) and Provincial Statistical Offices (PSOs), together with the Local Government Units spearheaded by the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs), awarded Certificates of Live Birth (COLB) in security paper of the 150 beneficiaries under the PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Program in October 2023.
The PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP) aims to help the marginalized in securing their birth registration and assist them in registering to PhilSys. The project is also an initiative in fulfilling the country’s commitment to the 2015-2024 Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Decade goal of universal registration.
Ms. Cynthia R. Miranda, one of the beneficiaries from Sual, Pangasinan said during the interview with Ms. Garcillan that she is thankful to PBRAP because she knows how important it is to have her birth be registered. “Pakiramdam ko buo na ako kasi may proof na ng aking pagkapanganak, Ngayon, mas may kumpiyansa na akong mag-apply ng trabaho kasi may maipapakita na akong birth certificate. Malaking tulong po talaga itong PBRAP,”she said to the team. She also said that, as a beneficiary, she will also advocate the program to others.
Below is the breakdown of number of COLB in security paper (SECPA) awarded under PBRAP during the month of October 2023:
As of 31 October 2023 there were 2,831 registered records with issued COLB in SECPA, while 4,689 of the registered records were already electronically endorsed and there were 398 out-of-town PBRAP registration.
With the continued partnership of PSA-RSSO I and Local Government Units, the region remains on track of its aim to further increase PBRAP registration and be able to register more Filipinos, especially those from the vulnerable sector, and be able to get every Pinoy and Pinay in the picture.
