In the Ilocos Region, the Water supply; Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation Activities sector had 52 registered establishments and 1,243 employees as of 2021. This showed that there were at least 24 employees for each establishment. The number of registered establishments decrease by 8.8 percent, from 57 establishments in 2020. Meanwhile, the number of employees in the sector decreased by 22.2 percent from 1,598 in 2020.

In 2021, the total paid employment of the Water supply; Sewerage, Waste Management, and Remediation Activities sector was recorded at 1,243. These workers were all paid employees.

The total revenue generated in the sector declined by 2.1 percent from PhP 1.70 billion in 2020 to PhP 1.66 billion in 2021.

The total expense for the Water Supply; Sewerage, Waste Management, and Remediation Activities were recorded at 1.16 billion in 2021 lower by 11.0 percent compared to 1.30 billion revenues in 2020. The total compensation paid to employees in the region was at PhP 406. 21 million in 2021, a decrease of 14.5 percent from PhP 475.12 million.

The average annual compensation paid per employee in the Ilocos Region for the Water supply; sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities were recorded PhP 326.80 thousand in 2021.This translated to a revenue per expense ratio of 1.44 which means that there is a 0.44 revenue per peso expense. The value is 9.92 percent higher than in 2020 which recorded 297.32 thousand average annual compensation per paid employees with a revenue per expense ratio of 1.31.
