In line with its commitment to provide timely, accurate and relevant economic accounts at the subnational level, the Philippine Statistics Authority - Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA - RSSO I), together with the Environment and Natural Resources Accounts Division (ENRAD) of the Central Office, conducted the Technical Session on Water Flow Accounts of the llocos Region on 04 June 2024 in the City of San Fernando, La Union. The event was attended by representatives from the Provincial Statistical Offices, Regional Line Agencies, Private Sector, Local Water Districts, and the City and Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Offices.

The activity aimed to present and discuss in detail the concepts of the environmental accounts particularly the Water Flow Accounts. It was a venue to gather feedback and additional data/information from the stakeholders.

Three main topics were presented during the technical session that include: Overview on the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting 2012 Central Framework and Natural Capital Accounting Implementation in the Philippines; Overview on Flow Accounts, and; Water Flow Accounts. These were presented by the subject matter experts from the PSA Central Office ENRA Division, namely; Senior Statistical Specialist Polaris C. Bautista, Statistical Analyst Nichole P. Gabriel, and Statistical Specialist II Jonel Jake P. Galinato.
Representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and National Irrigation Administration (NIA) - Urdaneta City have provided feedbacks and shared information and suggestions during the session.

The activity was closed with words of appreciation from Regional Director Atty. Sheila O. De Guzman for the unending support that is being extended to PSA. She emphasized the importance of this endeavor not only to the llocos Region but to the whole nation.
