The Philippine Statistics Authority - Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA - RSSO I), together with the Satellite Accounts Division (SAD) of the Central Office, conducted the Consultation and Validation Forum of the 2018 Benchmark Estimates of the Regional Tourism Satellite Accounts (RTSA) of llocos Region on 07 May 2024 at the City of San Fernando, La Union. The event was conducted via hybrid mode and attended by representatives from the Provincial Statistical Offices, Local Government Units, Private Sector, Department of Tourism, and National Economic and Development Authority.

The activity aimed to present, discuss and solidify the 2018 benchmark estimates of the tourism economy in the llocos Region by gathering feedback and additional data/information from its stakeholders. This is in line with the PSAs commitment to provide timely, accurate and relevant economic accounts at the subnational level.

Chief Statistical Specialist Gerald Junne L. Clarino of SAD comprehensively discussed the RTSA overview. Meanwhile, Mr. Brent R. Huliganga, Regional Project Staff of RTSA, presented the benchmark estimates. During the open forum, the participants provided their feedback, suggestions and words of appreciation for the conduct of this activity.

The 2018-203 RTSA of the llocos Region is projected to be released in October this year.
