The Pangasinan Provincial Statistical Office conducted the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS Barangay Profile Questionnaire (BPQ) Data Collection, Service Facilities and Government Projects (SFGP) Listing, and Map Generation Provincial Level Training last 06-11 May 2024 at 567 Resort, Baybay Lopez, Binmaley, Pangasinan. The activity was spearheaded by PSO Pangasinan Chief Statistical Specialist Edgar M. Norberte, together with Senior Statistical Specialist and Provincial Focal Person Verna M. Palsimon and Statistical Analyst Allen Joy B. Paulo. Information Systems Analyst III Ian Joshua A. Villar of Geospatial Management Division (GMD) under the Community-Based Statistics Service (CBSS) also joined the activity as a resource person and facilitator. Supervising Statistical Specialist Ferdinand Q. Jocutan also took part in the said event.

The training was conducted for six consecutive days, on which the first three days (06-08 May 2024) were dedicated to the discussion of the BPQ Data Collection, and SFGP Listing. Meanwhile the remaining three days (09-11 May 2024) were devoted for the discussions on Map Generation.

To facilitate the series of BPQ Data Collection and SFGP Listing orientations in the 48 cities/municipalities, selected regular PSO personnel were tapped to join the first three days of training together with 21 hired Statistical Researchers (SRs) and one Team Supervisor (TS). Participants were trained on the concepts, definitions, processes and protocols of data collection and listing to ensure the accuracy of information that will be gathered in all cities/municipalities and barangays of the province.

The second half of the six-day training which involved Map Generation was participated by 22 hired Map Data Processors (MDPs) and 7 Map Data Reviewers (MDRs) who are trained on how to prepare map files needed for the upcoming 2024 POPCEN-CBMS operations. Hands-on activities were administered to equip the hired personnel with the needed skills to carry out their tasks for the success of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS.
