The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – La Union Provincial Statistical Office participated in the tree planting activity on 14 February 2025 in Baroro, Bacnotan, La Union for couples preparing to formally legalize their unions in the upcoming mass wedding organized by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bacnotan through its Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) and led by Municipal Mayor Divina C. Fontanilla and Municipal Vice Mayor Francis Fontanilla.

The LCRO together with the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) and Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) facilitated the activity that aimed to unite the spirit of love and care for nature.

This activity is also part of the lined-up activities of LCRO Bacnotan in observance of the Civil Registration Month (CRM) pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 682, declaring the month of February as CRM each year in the country.

Mass weddings organized by LGUs allow couples the opportunity to formally legalize their relationship without incurring the financial burden associated with conventional wedding ceremonies.
