The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Ilocos Sur encourages the public to support and cooperate in the conduct of the March 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS) with the Jobs and Skills Survey (JSS) as its rider. The enumeration will start on 08 March 2025 and is expected to be completed on 28 March 2025.
The LFS is a nationwide survey of households that aims to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. It encompasses two key components: the provision of statistics on the levels and trends of employment, unemployment, and underemployment, and the establishment of a quantitative framework to support the preparation of plans and the formulation of policies affecting the labor market. Meanwhile, the JSS aims to collect data on various topics, including job tasks and skills usage, employment working conditions, remote work, and adaptability to new technologies.
Three statistical researchers were hired and trained to conduct the enumeration of the
99 sample households from the six sample barangays in Ilocos Sur using the Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI).
The authority and mandate of the PSA to conduct the LFS emanate from Republic Act (R.A.) No. 10625 known as the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013 states that, “the PSA will be primarily responsible for all national censuses and surveys, sectoral statistics, consolidation of administrative recording system, and compilation of national accounts.” The PSA complies with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and assures that all collected personal information and data gathered from the said surveys are processed in accordance with the law and other issuances.
All stakeholders, especially the sample households in the province, are enjoined to support the March 2025 Labor Force Survey and Jobs and Skills Survey.
