ILOCOS SUR – In celebration of Women’s Month this March 2025, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Ilocos Sur conducted National ID mobile registration in the municipality of Cervantes in line with the colocation with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for 4Ps, emphasizing the vital role of women, especially mothers, in shaping the future of the nation.
This initiative, as part of PSA Ilocos Sur’s Women’s Month activities, aimed to bring the National ID registration closer to communities, making the process more accessible, particularly for mothers and their children. As a tribute to mothers, the registration prioritized children, ensuring they are included in the national identification system at an early age, which will provide them with better access to government programs and services in the future.
PSA Ilocos Sur registration team set up mobile registration sites in different barangays, reaching families in far-flung areas of Cervantes. This effort was particularly beneficial for mothers who face difficulties traveling to fixed registration centers due to household responsibilities, economic constraints, and geographic challenges. By bringing the registration closer to their homes, the PSA ensured that more children and families could benefit from the National ID.

Throughout the event, mothers expressed their gratitude for the initiative, highlighting how the National ID will help their children gain access to essential services such as education, healthcare, and financial inclusion.
Aside from the mobile registration, PSA Ilocos Sur also set up an information booth to explain the significance of the National ID and its benefits, reinforcing its commitment to empowering women through awareness and accessibility. The activity aligns with this year’s Women’s Month theme, which focuses on inclusivity, empowerment, and service accessibility for all Filipinos.
PSA Ilocos Sur encourages more residents to register for the National ID and take advantage of upcoming mobile registration activities. The agency remains committed to providing efficient and accessible services, ensuring that every Filipino, regardless of location or background, is included in the national identification system.
