TAMAG, VIGAN CITY, ILOCOS SUR- The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Ilocos Sur conducts the third level training on 2024 Enumeration Area (EA) Delineation for the Development of Enumeration Area Reference File (EARF) for the 2024 Community-based Monitoring System and Census of Population (CBMS-POPCEN) on 23 to 26 January 2024 at Ilocos Sur Provincial Statistical Office. A total of 1q participants composed of SSII Dante D. Dacquel, and the hired Map Data Reviewer (MDR) and 9 Map Data Processors (MDPs) attended the training.

PSA is set to conduct the EA Delineation for the Development of 2024 EARF for the 2024 CBMS-POPCEN field operations on 05 February to 29 March 2024. Among the key preparatory tasks for this is placed on the creation of accurate and reliable EA maps and the subsequent final EARF. These resources will play a vital role in facilitating the effective planning and execution of census field enumeration activities

The 2024 EA Delineation and Merging activity intends to come up with final EARF for all domains throughout the country to be utilized in the forthcoming 2024 CBMS-POPCEN. This activity primarily aims to determine and update the enumeration areas that needs splitting to form a relatively similar size EAs (i.e., 100 to 300 households). These EAs will be subjected to field validation to confirm EA size and verify accessibility criterion. This activity also targets to incorporate some adjustments made on the administrative boundaries as confirmed by the Local Government Units (LGUs) during the previous map research consultations resulting from the conduct of 2023 Integrated Processing of Maps activity.

The PSA Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) will be directly responsible for the coordination, monitoring, and supervision of the field operations in the areas under its jurisdiction. The PSO shall assume responsibility for all the technical, operational, and administrative aspects of the field validation in the province. 

The next level of training which will be attended by the Map Data Verifiers of the 2024 EA Delineation for the Development of EARF for the 2024 CBMS-POPCEN is set to commence on 31 January to 01 February 2024.

The PSA enjoins support of the LGUs and cooperation with the sample respondents to give truthful, complete and accurate information to the SRs. Rest assured that all information collected in these surveys shall be kept strictly confidential and shall not be used for purposes of taxation, investigation or regulation as provided under Article 55 of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of RA 10625. The PSA also adheres with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and assures that all collected personal information are processed in accordance with the law and other issuances.
