
CAOAYAN, ILOCOS SUR. The Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) Mobile Registration was successfully conducted in Pantay Tamurong, Caoayan, Ilocos Sur on 14 January 2025 by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)- Ilocos Sur, in partnership with the Regional Statistical Services Office (RSSO) I and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Caoayan through its Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO).
The BRAP Mobile Registration initiative aimed to ensure that the birth records of all residents, including the elderly, in Pantay Tamurong, Caoayan, Ilocos Sur were accurately documented, providing them essential civil registration services right at their barangay. Birth Registration Coordinator (BRC) Reuel Hermosa, BRC Janina R. Taiza, Registration Officer (RO) II Mary Claire U. Ragasa along with Municipal Civil Registrar (MCR) Pablo A. Quindipan and Administrative Aide (AA) III Analyn C. Desumala of LGU Caoayan, assisted 29 senior citizens during the activity.
In addition to the mobile registration, RO II Mary Claire U. Ragasa provided valuable information on civil registration services, including the process of obtaining certificates of live births, marriages, deaths, and other civil registry documents. Information Officer I (IO I) Ethelwolda Nichole P. Carbonell distributed CRS ITP-2 Flyers to the participants. Furthermore, BRC Reuel Hermosa conducted information dissemination on BRAP to educate residents about its benefits. The activity was well-received by the senior citizens of Barangay Pantay Tamurong, who expressed their gratitude for the service, which they described as a much-needed and timely initiative.
The PSA RSSO I, PSA Ilocos Sur, and LGU Caoayan are committed to ensuring that every Filipino, regardless of location, has access to the various services of the PSA. The successful BRAP Mobile Registration in Pantay Tamurong is a testament to their dedication to reaching even the farthest communities and supporting their needs. The PSA Ilocos Sur continues to encourage the public to take advantage of these initiatives and reminds citizens to keep their civil registry documents up-to-date to ensure that they can fully participate in society’s systems and services.
BRAP for Ilocos Sur aims to register a total of 6,572 unregistered births. This project involves provision of assistance in processing delayed registration of births of the beneficiaries and out-of-town registration of births. The target beneficiaries of this project will receive copies of their registered birth certificates in security paper (SECPA).
