According to the official results of the 2021 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI), the Human Health and Social Work Activities (HHSWA) section in the Ilocos Region employed 7,713 workers in 332 registered establishments. This showed that 23 employees worked for each establishments.The number of registered establishments increased by 7.4 percent from 309 in 2020. On the contrary, the number of employees under HHSWA decreased by 5.7 percent from 8,176 in 2020.
In the Ilocos Region, HHSWA section registered 7,566 paid employees in 2021, accounting for 98.1 percent of the total employment. The number of paid employees decreased by 2.9 percent compared to 2020.
The total revenue of HHSWA section fell from PhP 7.37 billion in 2020 to PhP 6.18 billion in 2021, a 16.1 percent decline. Likewise, the total expense incurred by the section was PhP 4.93 billion, lower than the PhP 5.68 billion expenses in 2020.
The HHSWA section recorded total compensation of PhP 1.17 billion in 2021,lower by 22.8 percent from PhP 1. 51 billion in 2020. The average annual compensation paid per employee in the Ilocos Region was 154.43 thousand in 2021. The average annual compensation per paid employee in 2020 was recorded at 194.37 thousand, with a revenue per expense ratio of 1.30.
