Household population comprises 99.62 percent of the total population

  • As of 01 May 2020, Agoo, La Union had a total population of 66,028 persons. Of this total, the household population comprised 99.62 percent or 65,778 persons. This is 2.43 thousand higher than the 63,346 household population in 2015, and 5.39 thousand more than the 60,390 household population posted in 2010. (Table A)

  • The remaining 0.38 percent of the total population is comprised of the institutional population or those residing in collective or institutional living quarters such as hospitals, orphanages, and military camps; and of Filipinos in Philippine embassies, consulates, and missions abroad.

 

Number of households increase by 2.10 thousand from 13.85 thousand in 2015 to 15.95 thousand in 2020

  • The total number of households in Agoo, La Union reached 15,953 in 2020. This is higher by 2.10 thousand compared with the 13,850 households in 2015 and by 3.33 thousand compared with 12,619 households in 2010. (Table B)

 

One in every five households in the municipality are in Barangay San Nicolas West, San Agustin East, San Antonio, San Manuel Norte, San Isidro, and Nazareno

  • Among the 49 barangays, San Nicolas West had the most number of households in 2020 with 619, followed by San Agustin East with 586, San Antonio with 565, San Manuel Norte with 562, San Isidro with 537 and Nazareno with 523. These six barangays comprised 21.26 percent of the total households in the municipality. The barangay of San Nicolas Norte (Pob.) posted the least number of households with 130 households.

 

Average household size declines to 4.1 persons in 2020

  • The average household size (AHS) of the municipality decreased from 4.6 persons in 2015 to 4.1 persons in 2020. In 2010, there were 4.8 persons, on average, per household. (Table C and Figure 1)

  • Nineteen out of 49 barangays posted an AHS higher than the municipality’s AHS of 4.1 persons.
