Out of the 1,306,170 total number of households in the Region, it has been noted that more than half (725,144 households) had at least one type of internet access in 2020.

In terms of the type of internet connection, 43.1 percent or 562,886 of the total households in the region used mobile broadband network in accessing the internet.

For the fixed (wired) broadband, there were 12.8 percent or 167,812 households who reported having this type of internet connection. Meanwhile, 3.7 percent (48,045) and 2.1 percent (27,721) of the total households used fixed (wireless) broadband, and satellite broadband, respectively, as their type of internet connection. (Figure 1)

By location, home was where most of the households in the region connects to the internet. It comprised 58.4 percent, equivalent to 762,804 households. It was followed by those households who used internet in mobility with 256,994. Another 217,956 households used the internet in their workplace, while 184,245 were connected at school. The rest of the households where either connect at another person’s home (64,276), public place (56,713), private establishment (28,887), or internet cafe/computer shop (22,645). (Figure 2)

Electric fan and other cooling equipment was the most commonly found household convenience/ICT device/vehicle in the region, owned by 1,190,353 households. Mobile phone followed with 1,132,000 owner-households, and television with 1,108,221 owner-households. (Figure 3)
