In 2024, Pangasinan’s fisheries production recorded a total yield across different sub-sectors. Commercial fisheries produced 9,160.40 metric tons, while municipal fisheries contributed 9,474.65 metric tons. Of the municipal fisheries, 7,913.18 metric tons came from marine municipal fisheries, and 1,561.47 metric tons from inland municipal fisheries. Meanwhile, the aquaculture sector had the highest production, reaching 154,112.06 metric tons. (Table 1)

Specifically, the volume of production for commercial fisheries in Pangasinan for 2024 is categorized by species. Species with the highest annual production were Yellowfin tuna (Tambakol/Bariles) at 4,103.28 metric tons, followed by Skipjack (Gulyasan) at 3,007.26 metric tons and Roundscad (Galunggong) at 1,072.51 metric tons. (Table 2)

Meanwhile, for marine municipal fisheries in Pangasinan, the species with the highest annual production were Yellowfin tuna (Tambakol/Bariles) at 1,276.93 metric tons, Skipjack (Gulyasan) at 1,133.68 and Squid (Pusit) at 1,106.19 metric tons, respectively. On the other hand, species with the lowest annual production were Round herring (Tulis) at 0.65 metric ton and Goatfish (Saramulyete) at 6.10 metric tons. (Table 3)

Moreover, inland municipal fisheries production has divided in three categories: Fish, Crustaceans, and Molluscs. Specifically, fish category reached 1,081.94 metric tons. Among these, Milkfish (Bangus) had the highest production at 236.48 metric tons, while the lowest were Mudfish (Dalag) at 0.51 metric ton and Catfish (Kanduli) at 0.83 metric ton. Meanwhile, crustaceans recorded annual production at 320.86 metric tons. Specifically, Freshwater shrimp (Hipon) recorded the highest production at 90.58 metric tons, followed by Mud crab (Alimango) at 52.01 metric tons, while Tiger prawn (Sugpo) at 3.03 metric tons had the least production. Further, molluscs recorded 158.67 metric tons. Specifically, Oyster (Talaba) had the highest production at 70.98 metric tons, while Snail (Suso) had the lowest at 0.07 metric ton. (Table 4).

Aquaculture production varied across different environments. Marine cages had the highest yield, totaling 116,107.92 metric tons, primarily from milkfish. Brackish water fishponds produced 24,194.61 metric tons, with milkfish as the primary species. Freshwater fishponds recorded 12,257.15 metric tons, mainly from tilapia. Meanwhile, rice fish farming contributed 4.32 metric tons, while seaweed production totaled 0.91 metric tons. (Table 5)
