The registration kits for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Step 2 Registration are delivered to the Provincial Statistical Offices of Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan with assistance from the Department of National Defense (DND).

The DND, through the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), provided assistance in delivering the registration kits. Strict biosafety protocols were observed during the entire transfer.

This was made possible due to the request of Secretary Karl Kendrick Chua of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) to DND Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.

In a press release published by DND, Sec. Lorenzana expressed his approval for the transfer of registration kits to 32 targeted provinces nationwide which will implement the PhilSys registration this year.

The registration kits, each composed of various equipment and a photo booth kit, will be used during PhilSys Step 2 Registration. Biometric information (full-face photograph, iris scan and complete set of fingerprints) of applicants at the registration center will be captured using the kit.

PhilSys aims to provide Filipinos a formal identification that can be digitally verified.
