August 2023 llocos Region. After the successful conduct of the Consultation Workshop with Stakeholders and Validation of the Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) Benchmark Estimates of llocos Region last 11 July 2023, the Philippine Statistics Authority - Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA - RSSO l), together with its four Provincial Statistical Offices (PSOs), will begin the estimation of the non-benchmark accounts (for years 2019 to 2022) in the compilation of the PPA of the provinces in the region this third quarter of 2023.

The PPA provides a picture of the economic performance of the provinces and highly urbanized cities. ln addition, it is a source of indicators to monitor the economic development or progress at the local level. The compilation of PPA is an initiative of the PSA to address the increasing demand for local level statistics.

In line with the estimation of non-benchmark accounts, a training-workshop will be facilitated by industry specialists from the PSA Central Office to capacitate regional and provincial PPA Focal Persons and staff in the compilation of PPA estimates for 2019 to 2022.

Thus, the PSA continuously enjoin its partners and data providers to provide full cooperation and support through the provision of data requirements for timely, accurate, and relevant economic accounts at the sub regional level. The data dissemination of the 2018 lo 2022 PPA of each province in the region is scheduled in December 2023.
