As of April 30, 2023, Pangasinan has distributed ePhilID to 908,193 individuals or 37.51% of the 2,421,523 total registered individuals in the Step 2 Registration of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).
Following the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. to issue 50 million Philippine Identification (PhilID) by the end of 2022, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) implemented the ePhilID to complement the on-going printing of the physical PhilIDs. The Electronic Philippine Identification or ePhilID is the digital version of the PhilID card that allows individuals to access PhilSys-enabled services. It has the same validity and functionality as the PhilID card.
PSA Pangasinan began the ePhilID operations across the province last October 2022. PhilSys personnel printed ePhilIDs and conducted house-to-house delivery along with plaza-type distribution in barangays. Issuance of printable PhilIDs is also available in the Provincial Fixed Registation Center in Calasiao and all established registration centers in Pangasinan.
446,042 ePhilIDs were received by Filipinos in Pangasinan by the end of December 2022. The highest number of ePhilID distributions was recorded in San Carlos City with a total of 28,064; followed by Dagupan City with 22,314; and Urdaneta City with 20,539 issued ePhilIDs. The Regional Statistical Services Office I awarded the Provincial Statistical Office of Pangasinan for the exemplary performance and leading province in printing and distribution of ePhilIDs.
Distribution of ePhilIDs continues throughout Pangasinan during the 1st quarter of 2023 up to the present. In line with continuous information dissemination of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Pangasinan Statistical Office, government agencies and private sectors in Pangasinan began to accept ePhilIDs as valid proof of identity and can be used in simplifying public and private transactions.
