The Regional Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Quiz Bee for Local Civil Registrar Offices (LCROs) marked the finale of the 33rd Civil Registration Month (CRM) celebration of the Ilocos Region on February 28, 2023. Contenders from the LCROs joined the event at the conference room of the Philippine Statistics Authority-Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA-RSSO I) in San Fernando City, La Union.

Ten city/municipal civil registrars (for Category 1), and nine staff from the LCROs (for Category 2) in the four provinces of the region joined the Regional Quiz Bee.

City Civil Registrar Ms. Lorlyn Flordeliz P. Ulit of Batac City, Ilocos Norte accumulated the highest scores for Category 1- Local Civil Registrars and won the Championship. Not far was Municipal Civil Registrar Leonna Jacqueline R. Gajeton of Paoay, Ilocos Norte who won 1st runner-up, followed by Municipal Civil Registrar Charita R. Galimba of Cervantes, Ilocos Sur as the 2nd runner-up.

Meanwhile Ms. Mai Victoria I. Calaycay of Badoc Ilocos Norte scored highest under Category 2 – LCRO Employees/Staff of the Regional Quiz Bee. Next to her is Ms. Cecilia T. Ayco from the LCRO of Vigan City and declared 1st Runner-up, while Ms. Maria Jhoanna D. Edad of Aringay, La Union bagged the 2nd Runner-up.

The winners of the Regional Elimination for the 3rd National CRVS Quiz Bee for LCROs conducted on February 10, 2023 were also awarded with certificates of recognition and tokens. For this event, Mr. Carl Angelo C. Calderon of the LCRO Batac City was awarded Champion. He also represented the Ilocos Region during the 3rd National CRVS Quiz Bee on February 27, 2023 at Luxent Hotel, Quezon City and ranked 5th among the contenders nationwide. Meanwhile, Municipal Civil Registrar of Santa, Ilocos Sur, Atty. Marc Rodney B. Pintor was ranked 2nd, followed by Municipal Civil Registrar Charita R. Galimba of Cervantes, Ilocos Sur.

The PSA-RSSO I thanked the Local Civil Registry Offices in the region for their support and active participation to the 33rd CRM Celebration which led to the successful conduct of the CRM for the year.
