The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA – RSSO I) will conduct the Survey on Costs and Returns (SCR) of Palay Production (January 2023 Round) in collaboration with the Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) of the Department of Agriculture. This survey covers palay farmers who harvested palay in July to December 2022.

The SCR of palay production will generate data on the cost and returns of producing palay. This aims to establish an up-to-date production costs structure; determine indicators of profitability such as gross and net returns, returns above cash costs, returns above variable costs; come up with benchmark/updated data sets on average use of material and labor inputs; and generate other related socio-economic variables.

The PSA enjoins all sample households to support the SCR of palay production by providing the information needed. Authorized PSA interviewers will visit the sample households from 06 to 17 February 2023 to conduct a personal interview. All information collected by hired Statistical Researchers from the sample households shall be kept strictly confidential.
