Aguilar, Pangasinan – The Provincial Statistical Office of Pangasinan, together with the Regional Statistical Services Office I (RSSO-01) and Local Government of Aguilar, awarded the Birth Certificate in Security Paper (SECPA) to the oldest beneficiary in the country, last February 21, 2023.
Born on April 24, 1923, Mrs. Estepania N. Descalzo, also known as “Lola Panyang”, will celebrate her 100th birthday this year. Her husband, Mr. Domingo Sendin, died 10 years ago, leaving her with eight children.
Through the initiative of the Local Civil Registry Office of Aguilar, the birth of Lola Panyang was registered last December 2022 under the PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP). The awarding was attended by Municipal Mayor Kristal Ballesteros-Soriano, RSSO-01 Regional Director Atty. Sheila O. De Guzman, and PSO Pangasinan Chief Statistical Specialist Edgar M. Norberte. Also present during the event were Municipal Vice Mayor Jesus Zamuco, MCR Myra Esmeralda Medina, Councilor Evelyn Villanueva, Pangasinan PBRAP Agent Rosemarie B. Ortaleza, RSSO-01 Administrative Assistant Girard Francis Casuga, and Information Officer Ian Bautista.
