ILOCOS REGION - The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA – RSSO I) will conduct the January 2022 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and the 2021 Family Income and Expenditures Survey (FIES) Visit 2 on 10 to 31 January 2022 in Ilocos Region.
The LFS is a nationwide quarterly survey of households which aims to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. It also measures the current state of the country’s labor market and is used, among other things, to calculate national and regional employment indicators.
In addition, the LFS also provides statistics on levels and trends of employment, unemployment and underemployment for the country.Meanwhile, the 2021 FIES Visit 2 is the rider survey for the January 2022 LFS.
The FIES gathers data on the income distribution and levels of living and spending patterns of Filipino families across the country.
The second round of the FIES will gather data on income and expenditure of families for the second semester, 01 July to 31 December 2021.
A total of 6,144 randomly selected sample households in the region will be interviewed.
Minimum public health, and safety standards for the containment of the COVID-19 will be strictly observed during all phases
of the field operations.
The PSA appeals to the sample households to cooperate and provide truthful, complete, and accurate information to the enumerators. The respondents are assured that data to be collected in the survey shall be covered by the confidentiality of information clause under Section 26 of Republic Act 10625, which stipulates that individual data furnished by a respondent to statistical inquiries, surveys, and censuses of the PSA shall be considered privileged information and such shall be inadmissible as evidence in any proceeding.
