The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – La Union Provincial Statistical Office will commence the November 2021 Round of the Labor Force Survey (LFS) on November 8, 2021 and will be carried out until November 27, 2021 in randomly selected households and housing units in sample enumeration areas in La Union.

The monthly LFS aims to provide high frequency statistical information on the Philippine labor market to better understand the current situation of employment and the economy of the Philippines during the unprecedented Corona Virus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Results of the monthly LFS will serve as basis for planning, formulation of policies, and implementing programs to create gainful employment and bolster livelihood opportunities for the Filipinos particularly those who were adversely affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

A total of 96 randomly selected housing units from seven sample barangays in the province will be visited by two hired Statistical Researchers (SRs) under the supervision of Chief Statistical Specialist Danites E. Teñido, Ph.D.; Statistical Specialist II Marieta P. Rivera, Provincial Focal Person; and Statistical Analyst Joselito C. Garcia, Alternate Focal Person.

The PSA enjoins the support of the Local Government Units (LGUs) and cooperation of sample households in providing truthful, complete and accurate information to the SRs. The data to be collected in the survey shall be covered by the confidentiality of information clause under Section 26 of Republic Act 10625, which stipulates that individual data furnished by a respondent to statistical inquiries, surveys, and censuses of the PSA shall be considered privileged communication and such shall be inadmissible as evidence in any proceeding.

The PSA also assures the public that all hired SRs are in good health condition. Minimum public health and safety standards will be strictly observed during enumeration. ###
