05 February 2021 – Ilocos Region. The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA-RSSO I) presented the results of the 2018 Census of Philippine Business and Industry (CPBI)  to representatives from business establishments, regional line agencies, and the media through a virtual data dissemination forum  via video conference.

Statistical Specialist II Engr. Divino Amor P. Rivera, Ph.D. discussed  the results of the 2018 CPBI. An open forum followed after his discussion.

One of the highlights is the awarding of the most cooperative business establishments. The awarding aims to recognize the constant and active participation of all business owners in the establishment surveys of PSA. 

Two (2) winning business establishments from each of the four (4) provinces of the Ilocos Region received their virtual certificates  of recognition during the said forum.

The awardees were:  LORMA Medical Center and LORMA Colleges  from La Union; Dagupan Filco Merchandising Corp. and Jesscon and Sons Aquafarm Association, Inc. from Pangasinan; Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative and Venvi Agro-Industrial Ventures Corporation  from Ilocos Norte; and Nueva Segovia Consortium of Cooperatives  and Metro Vigan Water District from Ilocos Sur.

The 2018 CPBI is one of the designated statistical activities undertaken by the PSA which aims to collect and generate information  on the performance, levels, structure, and trends of economic activities  of the formal sector in the entire country for reference year 2018.
