02 February 2021 – Ilocos Region. Selected personnel of the Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA-RSSO I) will facilitate an interactive game for its clients called “Pop Quiz on Civil Registration” which will make waiting for civil registry documents more fun and educational. This is a part of the celebration of the Civil Registration Month (CRM).

Clients in queue will be given a chance to answer questions concerning civil registration. Participants who will give the correct answer  will be given a simple token from PSA. Aside from the Pop Quiz, personnel from the RSSO I will discuss various trivia and information concerning vital statistics and civil registration laws during the Public Forum.

Ms. Camille Carla U. Beltran of the Civil Registration and Administrative Support Division said that, “the public forum with the clients is one way  for the regional office of the PSA to answer their queries or concerns regarding civil registration.”

Officer-in-Charge Atty. Sheila O. De Guzman added that “the office  is always looking for innovative yet amusing activities for CRM  and to include the public in its celebration.”

This year’s Civil Registration Month (#CivilRegMonth) entails a line-up  of various activities (1) to raise awareness and promote the legal, administrative, and statistical values of civil registration, and (2) campaign the importance of adequate funding for the enforcement  and administration of civil registry laws.

The celebration is pursuant to the Presidential Proclamation No. 682 signed on 28 January 1991 by former President Corazon C. Aquino, declaring February as the Civil Registration Month. 

Minimum public health and safety standards against COVID-19  will be observed during the on-ground activities for the CRM.
