11 December 2020 – PANGASINAN. Key Officials of the Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA –RSSO I) discussed updates on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH) and Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) during the 2nd Annual Media Forum with the theme, “Be Counted. Be Informed,” in Calasiao, Pangasinan.
Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Edgar Norberte of PSO – Pangasinan welcomed the media practitioners from Pangasinan and Ilocos Sur who attended the forum onsite and virtually via Zoom. Officer-in-Charge Atty. Sheila O. De Guzman said in her message that the media plays a very important and crucial role in informing the public on the various services and activities of the PSA.
CSS Juanito Y. Yabes of the Statistical Operations and Coordination Division shared that the field enumeration for the 2020 CPH was completed in October 2020 in all the provinces of the region. He mentioned that various local government units (LGUs) provided free COVID-19 testing for the hired 2020 CPH personnel before enumeration to ensure the safety of the respondents and enumerators.
On the other hand, Ms. Camille Carla U. Beltran of the Civil Registration and Administrative Support Division announced that the Step 2 registration will be rescheduled and those with appointment slips will be informed through text blast and announcement from LGUs.
First Vice President Ma. Belma Turla of the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) talked about the collocation strategy with PSA in the implementation of PhilSys. The LBP will be setting up a booth near the PhilSys registration centers so that respondents may opt to open their bank accounts.
Lastly, the Facebook page and Twitter account of PSA - RSSO I were also launched during the forum.
