The PSA-Ilocos Norte conducted a four-day intensive training from March 4 to 7, 2025, for 31 newly hired personnel in preparation for the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS) Geotagging of Service Facilities and Government Projects (SFGP).
The training aimed to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge to effectively carry out geotagging operations. Leading the sessions were Ms. Editha O. Jaramilla, CBMS Provincial Focal Person (PFP), and Mr. Vincent M. Luis, Provincial Mapping Focal Person (PMFP), who provided comprehensive guidance on geotagging procedures, data validation, and best practices for ensuring accuracy in geotagging and census operations.
The geotagging of service facilities and government projects (SFGP) is a crucial component of CBMS operations, enabling the collection of timely and relevant local-level data on households, housing units, service facilities, and government projects. Additionally, the Listing of Building Constructions will be conducted alongside the SFGP initiative. This activity, scheduled to begin on March 10, 2025, and run until April 12, 2025, will play a vital role in supporting effective planning, development, and resource allocation in the province.
