It was a remarkable achievement to the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) of La Union to have been recognized during the awarding of Top Performing LCROs in Ilocos Region that put into spotlight their dedication in providing outstanding civil registration services in the province.

The LCROs of La Union garnered recognitions during the Regional Search for Top Performing LCROs organized by Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Statistical Services Office I held on 17 October 2024 at the Don Leopoldo Sison Convention Center, Alaminos City, Pangasinan. The awards were presented based on the number of civil registry document registrations of each city and municipality categorized as extra-small, small, medium, large, extra-large, and super extra-large.

During the event, the LCROs of La Union excelled in special award categories. LCRO Sudipen championed in the “Naimpusuan a Panagserbi Award” for extra small municipalites. LCRO Bacnotan was recognized in the same category for small municipalites, while LCRO Agoo secured the 1^st runner-up for large municipalities. In the “Naisangsangayan a Ganuat Award”, LCRO San Gabriel, Aringay, and Agoo emerged as the champions for extra small, small, and large municipalities, respectively. LCRO Sudipen, Aringay, and Agoo were also awarded as champions in the “Natalged a Timpuyog Award” for extra small, small, and large municipalities. Additionally, LCRO Aringay and Agoo were awarded champions in the “Natulnog Award” for small and large municipalities, while LCRO Burgos clinched the 2^nd runner-up for extra small municipalities.

The La Union Civil Registrars Association (LUCRA) also received recognition, securing the 1st runner-up award among the four civil registrars associations in the Ilocos Region. This award highlighted LUCRA's outstanding contributions and commitment to civil registration services in the province.

The respective Municipal Civil Registrars of La Union proudly received the awards on behalf of their LCROs. These awards served as a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of La Union LCROs in delivering exceptional civil registration services to their constituents.

The selection of top performing LCROs aimed to: encourage the efficiency and productivity, innovativeness and creativity in the LCROs; acknowledge the LCROs initiatives in supporting programs and activities relevant to Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Decade; promote the values of participation, cooperation and social responsibility; and align the incentive system with the results-based performance that delivered timely, accurate, reliable products and efficient civil registration services.
