In celebration of the “Elderly Filipino Week” in October 2024, Ilocos Norte Provincial  Statistical Office (PSO) participated at the Mobile Registration held at Paoay Civic Center on 05 November 2024 in coordination with the Municipal Civil Registrar Office (MCRO) and the Office for Senior Citizens Affair (OSCA) of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Paoay headed by Hon. Shiella A. Galano, who also attended the said event.

Th PSO headed by Chief Statistical Specialist Marilyn P. Vergara provided National ID System Services such as registration, National ID in Paper Form issuance and updating service to the Elderly citizens of Paoay, Ilocos Norte. During the event, forty-six (46) senior citizens were successfully registered to National ID System, sixty-one (61) individuals were issued a copy of National ID in paper form and seven (7) individuals were able to update their biometric information.

The “Elderly Filipino Week” celebration aims to help the Senior Citizens to access essential government services and benefits through the presence of primary supporting documents such as PSA-issued birth certificate, National ID card, and Senior Citizen card.

The mobile registration initiative of LGU Paoay, Ilocos Norte, particularly the MCRO and OSCA together with the Ilocos Norte Provincial Statistical Office was developed in response to the challenges faced by senior citizens like mobility issues, illness, lack of transportation or living in far-flung areas. By bringing the National ID System registration process directly to their municipality, the mobile registration seeks to ensure that no senior citizen is left behind in the national identification process.

For those with disabilities or limited mobility, PSO Ilocos Norte also conducted house-to-house National ID System registration on November 11, 2024 and had successfully registered five (5) senior citizens.

The PSO will continue to serve the unregistered individuals to ensure that all Filipino citizens regardless of age will be registered to National ID System.
