ILOCOS REGION. The Philippine Statistics Authority through its Regional Statistical Service Office I and Provincial Statistical Offices continue their efforts to register Filipinos under the National Identification System. A total of 34,917 Filipinos in Ilocos Region were added to the list of National ID registrants in July 2024.
The province of Pangasinan shared the highest percentage of registered Filipinos at 72.2 percent of the total registrants in July 2024. Meanwhile, the province of La Union shared 13.0 percent or 4,530 registrants. On the other hand, the provinces of Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur contributed 7.1 and 7.7 percent, respectively, to the total National ID registration outputs in the region during the same period.
The PSA-RSSO 01 and its PSOs continue their commitment toward inclusive National ID registration. Coordination and collaborations with partners like the city/municipal social welfare are done for the registration of children 1 to 4 years old. National ID mobile registrations to barangays are also conducted to reach even the far-flung areas in the region. To inform the public of the updates on National ID registration, information dissemination campaigns are conducted on various platforms and venues.
With the support of the general public and partner agencies, PSA-RSSO 01 is optimistic that more Filipinos will be registered and enjoy the benefits of being registered with National ID.
